Cultural Health Checks & Focus Groups

Cultural Health Checks & Focus Groups2018-07-20T12:40:42+00:00

Are you experiencing any of these problems…

  • Is negativity and toxicity at an all time high in your company?
  • Are low morale & productivity, high absenteeism and/or workplace incidents and complaints a noticeable and recent problem for you?
  • Are you spending ever increasing $ amounts on staff turnover (recruitment, onboarding, loss of IP)
  • Have silos developed across your business, and your people have stopped collaborating but increased the  blame game?
  • Maybe you are about to expand your business, but want to ensure you retain the great culture you have worked hard to build
  • Or perhaps your latest engagement score placed you in the bottom quartile in your industry (gasp, shock, horror)

If you have answered YES to any of these questions, Workology Co can help.

I will work with you to help uncover why this is happening in your business, and then devise a plan of action to turn these problems around and set you on your way to success through having a great workplace culture.

Understanding the WHY

I will discover the WHY through either a Cultural Health Check and/or Focus Groups.

Cultural Health Checks

(also known as workplace audit or cultural audit)

My method for conducting a Cultural Health Check is to conduct interviews face: face with either all of your employees, or an agreed maximum number of employees chosen at random from across different work groups and levels.

I can also work in conjunction with your existing online survey, or develop a customised option for your business.

However I firmly believe in the value of 1:1 interviews to provide you with detailed and meaningful information, specific to your business and your unique challenges, rather than numeric based surveys.

Focus Groups

Focus Groups are small group discussions that are all about gaining detailed information and deeper insights from your people.

Sometimes we only really know how we feel about an issue when we listen to the opinions of others, as it helps to clarify where we stand on the issue.

Focus Groups can be either a stand-alone option (for example if you have already conducted your own survey), or can work in conjunction with the Cultual Health Check to dive further into the WHY.

Focus Groups also have the benefit of providing your team with the opportunity to contribute to the solutions, by seeking their input into suggested ways to improve.

Further information about Focus Groups including how many people should take part in each session, and how long do sessions last, can be found here.

Why work with me?

workplace culture

When you engage Workology Co to conduct your Cultural Health Check or Focus Groups, you are engaging a skilled interviewer with a passion for uncovering both the issues and the ‘whys’ that lie beneath them.

My many years of experience working as a lawyer, HR professional, workplace investigator and facilitator, coupled with my journalism qualifications, means that in me you will find an objective, unbiased third party who people love to open up to.

Because I am neutral and a skilled facilitator, your people can feel confident to openly and honestly express how they feel, without fear of any kind of retribution.

I am not afraid to tell you the truth about why you have these problems in your business – although I promise to be gentle with you. And I will provide you with a range of solutions to address your problems, from no-to-low costs ideas to customised packages including management and team training and ongoing coaching.

Having spent many years dealing with workplace issues and negativity in one form or another, I am committed to utilising what I have learned along my work/life journey in order to help SMEs succeed by having great workplace cultures.

That’s partly about financial success. But it’s also about helping make my little corner of the (working) world just that little bit nicer.
